In 1990, Burton hired Jonathan Gems to write a sequel titled Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian. ‘Tim thought it would be funny to match the surfing backdrop of a beach movie with some sort of German Expressionism, because they’re totally wrong together’, Gems reflected. The story followed the Deetz family moving to Hawaii, where Charles is developing a resort. They soon discover that his company is building on the burial ground of an ancient Hawaiian Kahuna. The spirit comes back from the afterlife to cause trouble, and Betelgeuse becomes a hero by winning a surf contest with magic. Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder agreed to do the film on the condition that Burton direct, but he became distracted with Batman Returns.

'The Avengers' production halted over script leaks | Digital Spy

popculturebrain:

Production on the Marvel Studios all-star film The Avengers has allegedly been halted less than a week after commencing.

According to Film Fan Review, filming has completely shut down due to the reported leaking of Samuel L Jackson’s script.

Earlier this week, it was reported that an anonymous source had offered a 129-page shooting draft of the film’s screenplay to the website Obsessed With Film.

A source close to production on the project now claims that Marvel Studios has called for a rewrite of the compromised scenes.

Yikes.
